Know the Tao…

I’m by nature a philosophical and abstract thinker. I like playing with analytical thinking, and words. If I want to play with these things I can go to some great websites. I can go to Wikipedia and read the entry on Tao and entertain myself for hours and even days, although not all at once. Even though it’s all words, those things which are unable to express that which can be known and experienced, still I get a benefit from that.

Let it be noted right here, though, that in order to know and experience that which cannot be said, I highly recommend walking into the wilderness until you find a river and a tree, and then putting your hand on the tree or wrapping your arms around it, depending on how Italian you are. Then close your eyes, take a deep breath, let it out, and in the empty fullness of that moment hear the river and feel the tree and know the Tao…

I wholeheartedly agree. If the trees were not so difficult to get to with three feet of snow wrapped around their bottoms, I might just do that. Mmmm. I am dreaming of Spring.
